shakes dust off

To think I started this blog 2-3 years ago just for Illustration Friday, which I will be starting up again as I've hit a patch of art block. Very sad and frustrating but hoping that joining this random thing will spark something in me again ^^
I will only be posting for Illustration Friday stuff from here on out - if you want to follow me for my other art, I post mostly on Deviantart : http://serbronn.deviantart.com/
some of my more recent works to just highlight a few
just some random selections - I'm afraid I've fallen into drawing mostly animals/furries

all drawn on PaintTool SAI

looking forward to shake my art block and grow w/ my art

Illustration Friday: Farewell

About:
Surprisingly, I didn't have quiet a hard time with this piece as I thought I might. The word Farewell has different emotions behind it, the one I associate with it is always sadness. I suppose that has something do with the death of so many relatives over the past few years: one right after the other. This definitely has an emotional tie to it, mine being for the grandparents that I loved and lost, and for my uncle who was so tragically taken away from us in a very unfortunate accident. But, I'm not going to keep all of my pieces this depressing.

Illustration Friday: Train

About:
Illustration Friday piece. Honestly, I had no clue what to do for this theme until my mom was like, "Well, what about a wedding train?" I was all like "Duh!". I can't believe I hadn't thought of that. Well, so here it is, in my sketchy style. I even attempted at a background. °u° Somewhat pleased with how it turned out, the background that is. Backgrounds are hard man, but I did it.

Illustration Friday: Wild

About:
Well, Gina the Giraffe got a little wild with the paints. She didn't want to be a boring Giraffe any more. So, she decided to paint her spots every color of the rainbow. You go Gina.

Illustration Friday: Urban

 Medium:
Traditional : Pens, Markers, Pencil, Colored Pencil, all edited and put together in Photoshop.
Before Editing in Photoshop
About:
I am not sure about the concept of urban, so I took what I knew about urban, without looking it up, and put all of my own original pieces together to create a scene that I felt was urban enough for my style. The piece above the text is a sketch I did, on it's own, and the three pieces below, I added onto the sketch to give it more of a graffiti feel. I really wanted to submit only one piece, but I really couldn't choose, so I combined them. So yeah. There you go. My Urban Illustration.

Illustration Friday: Egg

About:
This is my second Illustration Friday piece. My original idea for the theme of Egg was to have Daenerys Targaryen to be holding one of her unhatched eggs, even though at this point in the game, they are already hatched and growing into terrifying beasts. (Small version of Orginal Idea is on the left hand side.) I didn't want to draw a happy Easter egg or one with chickens or bunnies, since the start of March, my whole mind has been focused on one thing: The Season premier of the 3rd season of Game of Thrones. So with this piece, you have a lovely dragon egg, wearing a very small crown, in a pool of blood or fabric. I guess you can say this is my hopes or my speculation of who will actually sit on that Iron Throne and rule over the Seven Kingdoms.

Illustration Friday: Swim

About:
This is my first piece for Illustration Friday: Swim. I decided to do a swimmer, since as a child and in my youth, I loved swimming. I wasn't sure if anybody would get the fact that I decided on the swimming stroke to be the "Butterfly" so I added butterfly wings to kind of get the message across but also to kind of be funny. Coloring is not my strong point, but I think it came out okay.
